In honor of Labor Day today, I thought I’d take a chance to introduce all of you Yentas to the most recent laboring I’ve done. Last month, on August 9th, Baby Yenta arrived and she’s the best labor I could ever know! Madelyn, who is just a day shy of four weeks, has already brought us so much joy and love. Welcoming a newborn into our home has been hard work, though, but it’s hard work — labor — I’m happy to know.

We all labor. Most readers of The Wedding Yentas are laboring over their weddings, putting every piece of themselves into the day on which they’ll tie the knot with their loves! Most of us also labor as career women, working to provide for our homes and professional status. Most of us labor, as well, for our families by maintaining a home, building relationships, and learning about our roots. We are all working for something. Goal setters. Eye on the prize. All that jazz.
So take this day to pat yourself on the back for all the work you do every day to achieve ultimate happiness.
Excuse me. I must go change a diaper.
Again.
