Barrie and Daniel met when they were in high school and have spent countless hours laughing together over the last 12 years. After their five-year courtship, they were thrilled to finally make things official while on vacation in San Jose del Cabo.

The bride and groom spent the wedding day surrounded by their closest friends and family. The bridal party consisted of 10 brothers, sisters and in-laws, as well as the bride and groom’s 14 nieces and nephews. The day was even more special with personal touches such as the groom’s brother-in-law as the officiant and a close family friend who designed the gorgeous ketubah.

They are looking forward to a delayed honeymoon to Paris in March, and many exciting vacations over the years to come.

Mazel tov, Barrie and Daniel!

A note from The Wedding Yentas: This is my sister-in-law’s wedding in which I was the Maid of Honor, my husband a groomsman, and my daughter a flower girl. It’s an honor to publish her wedding not only because it was beautiful, but because it was a special family occasion! And yes, I know I was technically a matron of honor, but can we just all agree that “matron” sounds too frumpy and unfun? So happy to share this wedding with my fellow Yentas!

Nothing is more important to both Alison and Michael than loved ones, laughter, music, and good food. When planning their wedding day, they were sure to make those four passions take the spotlight. By using a regal purple as the main color (Alison’s favorite color and Michael’s college color, go Northwestern Cats!) and their take on a simple yet elegant aesthetic, they were able to make the day shine with the help of their loving family and friends, a rocking band, incredible food, and inevitable laughter.

Since both bride and groom are professional performers (as are many of their family and friends), the band played while various members of the party would sing their hearts out, including a special performance by the groom in which he surprised his wife by singing a song just for her (“Grow Old With Me” by Jason Robert Brown). The ceremony itself was a reform ceremony in which Michael drank most of the wine, Alison and Michael tearfully and giddily exchanged vows, and Michael crushed the glass to roaring sounds of “Mazel Tov.” It was a beautiful day, full of love and joy, which neither of them will ever forget!

Mazel tov, Alison and Michael!

Amriel and Adina tied the knot this past October in beautiful Rutgers gardens! The bride and groom are an adorable Jewish couple who live in NYC. It’s so clear that Amriel makes Adina smile, and they are so sweet together!

On their wedding day they opted to have a first look where they posed for the camera in beautiful light with romantic surroundings. After their photos, the day continued with the Jewish traditions like the veiling of bride (bedeken), Ketubah signing, ceremony under the chuppah, and a festive reception.

Mazel tov, Adina and Amriel!

Va va voom — what a lucky groom! Leah is a fun Texas girl who converted to Judaism for Brent, and holy matzo balls, they threw one heck of a party! But before they got down on the dance floor, Leah showcased her beauty as she got dolled up for the day. She’s a Louboutin girl. Now, aren’t we all? Yes, of course, but really, she IS a Louboutin girl. She has a huge room that houses her Louboutins in her house! That is true love right there. So of course she sported those iconic red soles with all of her Leah flair.

I love the dramatic seating arrangement of their ceremony that allowed everyone a good perspective as they exchanged vows under the chuppah. Angling the seating is a great way to include guests in this intimate portion of the evening. Another way to include guests? Well, teach a Zumba class, of course! Leah is a Zumba instructor and she changed into a dance dress to party on and lead family and friends in a wedding-themed Zumba party! Or is that a Zumba-themed wedding party? Either way, the reception was filed with energetic dancing that went all the way to the end!

Mazel tov, Leah and Brent!
