New York City Winter Wonderland Engagement Shoot

Just because there’s snow, it doesn’t mean that your engagement shoot has to be a no-go! This couple embraced the snow. In fact, they planned their shoot around it! And I love how they chose a destination for their photos. If you have dreams of smiling for the camera in a tropical locale, or a metropolitan destination, or even just a town away from yours, do it! Your photos will be unique and so will the the memories associated with the shoot!

New York City wedding photographer, Martha Sachser, had the cutest words to share about her couple, Daniela and Rafael, who flew from Brazil to The Big Apple just for their engagement photos! Martha, in her own words:

When I say I have the best clients in the world, I’m serious! After a long flight (with connections) from Brazil to New York and a biting cold, they dropped their bags at the hotel and went straight to our meeting spot and nothing brought their good humor down! Daniela and Rafael are such a sweet and fun couple with a good energy like I’ve never seen before! Believe me, it was cold, as in I-can’t-feel-my-toes cold. Daniela had contacted me a while ago, and we talked about their session. The one thing she really wanted was… SNOW! I was very realistic about the facts and told her that for the second year in a row, snow was rare in NYC’s winter! But she did not give up! And what a surprise that the day of their session, we had the park all covered in white! It was really fun! Facing the cold of NYC is not easy, specially in the snow. But with good humor and lots of love, we registered many (comedic) romantic moments that will remain forever in our memories!

Michael and Samir Engaged in Washington, D.C.

It’s no secret that The Wedding Yentas blog loves love. Love also does not require explanation or defense. So, while The Wedding Yentas has a catchy, rhyme-y tagline of “A Guide for the Jewish Bride,” everyone should know that The Wedding Yentas is a guide for love… for any bride. Or groom. Totally Jewish. Jew-ish. No religion. Two brides. Two grooms. Whatever!

So today’s a day of firsts on The Wedding Yentas. It’s the first feature of a same-sex AND multicultural couple (two cute fellas! One’s Jewish and the other’s Indian). The Wedding Yentas is a guide for love and commitment, and these two are an adorable example of boy meets boy and fall in love as captured by Jalapeño Photography.

Two politicos, Michael and Samir, found one another in the melting pot that is Washington, D.C. Michael’s Jewish and from Alaska. Samir’s Indian and from Missouri. Regardless of their differences, once they met, they were inseparable!

During Michael and Samir’s courtship, they learned a lot about one another and traveled to far flung places. The ebbing and flowing of D.C. politics can be difficult on a relationship, but Michael and Samir weathered it as administrations and jobs changed.

One night, they began discussing their own future as opposed to politics. At this point, they agreed: Michael and Samir knew they wanted one another!

Fun and Playful McKinney, Texas Engagement Shoot

I love this sweet little engagement shoot by McKinney, Texas photographer, Kelly Rucker. Chris and Elisabeth are adorable and were perfect models with appropriate outfit changes, fun props, and diverse personalities that showed on camera — from romantic to playful, these two sparkle!

Plan on skipping your engagement shoot? Don’t! See what Chris and Elisabeth did? They utilized their shoot to create Save the Dates for their guests. Cook up some signs and props and you have yourself Save the Dates or rehearsal dinner invites or wedding thank you notes! It’s okay to double dip your engagement session to serve as a vehicle for other wedding-related (or not!) personalization!

Texas Engagement Shoot by Knotting Hill Photography

Mallory and John incorporated their own personal style — from rustic chic to evening glam — in this Texas-based engagement shoot captured by Knotting Hill Photography. Take note: the variety of photos offers many options for engagement photos usage. There’s casual, playful love surrounded by nature and sophisticated flirtation in swanky, metropolitan locations.

Where will you be taking your engagement photos? Consider different locations! The background of your photos is like a third character in your images so it’s really important to give it some serios thought. Well, played, Mallory and John!

Romantic Paris Engagement

Well, in this week of landmark engagement sessions (Griffith Observatory in L.A., the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco), how about we go across the pond… and then some. Letizia and Tim are the adorable couple who are madly in love, so of course when Melvin Gilbert Photography submits these delicious Paris photos taken at the Louvre ad Eiffel Tower, we say “oui!”

The romantic photos make the soundtrack of “The Artist” play through my ears and my eyes drink up the photogenic love. A modern day love on the grounds of some pretty historical shit (excuse my… well… French): classical pieces live inside the Louvre, and I’m willing to bet that Mona Lisa’s smile just got bigger, knowing that this cute couple is frolicking outside her doors. And the Eiffel Tower, a symbol of Paris, stands tall and proud just as these two will as they declare their amour on their wedding day. It’s really all too beautiful to describe so you see for yourself!

I love this more than I love croissants and French toast… er, just toast?
