Manya and Matt both share a deep passion for Orthodx Judaism, and this passion really shaped their wedding. As is traditional in Orthodox Judaism, they chose not to see each other for an entire week before their wedding ceremony. The Bedeken was particularly beautiful as it took place on the balcony of the venue which overlooked Lake Michigan and Buckingham Fountain. After this, Manya and Matt met each other just outside the balcony amidst dancing and singing as everyone processed to the ceremony. They carefully planned each part of the ceremony, and while it was steeped in age-old tradition, it was also quite personal for the bride and groom.

Glam, glam, glam. Renata and David are all about the glam. From the dramatic lighting of their reception — complete with a custom gobo and candelabras — to the dress (oh that dress! Deep breaths…), this New York wedding is just so… New York. It went big. It meant business. It was drop dead glamorous.

And a good looking couple like Renata and David couldn’t have looked any happier. Renata smiled the whole time and when she wasn’t smiling, she was fierce for the camera! And David looked so dapper in his tux, adopting a classic and traditional look. It’s adorable that they also have a super cute dog who was the model for their cake. That’s true love right there.

The chuppah is worth a quick gush as it’s draped in beads and crystals, with crisp white florals and greenery as its border. With an open top, it takes creative license as the first open home to the couple.

Yellow is one of those colors that evokes happiness and sheer joy! Yellow also gets bonus points because it can be used year-round as a wedding color! Fall? Totally! Summer? Absolutely! Definitely say HELLO to YELLOW! So, it’s refreshing to see yellow splattered all over Jaime and Henrik’s beautiful October wedding.

It’s no surprise, then, that the reception was a big bash of nonstop fun. The Horah was so festive with total participation from all of Jaime and Henrik’s friends and family. The group dancing was so enthusiastic, you can almost hear the laughter and energy in the photos you’ll enjoy below. Looks like the yellow theme created a lively and festive atmosphere for the newlyweds and all of their guests. Everyone is just so… happy.

Casey Fatchett, the couple’s talented wedding photographer, said that when Jaime and her bridesmaids were standing atop a rock outside the venue for their portraits with the brilliant blue sky behind them, his assistant photographer looked up and said, “They look like angels.” It’s true. What magnificent shots.

And with all that happiness, there was also romance. Nothing is more romantic than a surprise song and Jaimie did just that. She serenaded Henrik with a song on the guitar — an act of bravery and love.

Harper and Pete have known each other since high school and after Harper went off to the corporate world and Pete had a brief stint in the MLB, they ended up reconnecting and igniting an old flame.

Harper and Pete did things their own way and had a beautifully intimate wedding in Queens that felt so cozy and perfectly them. Surrounded by family and friends they said their vows leaving not a single dry eye in the crowd. And the night ended with the sharing of delicious cupcakes and a smattering of yummies from the candy bar!

Max and Nicole met in Milwaukee, Wisconsin while Nicole was working at a doctor’s office and Max was working as a pharmaceutical representative. They knew each other professionally for several years before they were “set-up” by one of the doctors with which Nicole worked. This doctor saw Max and Nicole talking one day and it suddenly became his mission to set them up on a date; he thought they were perfect for each other, and they were!

Max and Nicole’s vision for their wedding was to have an intimate affair. They wanted to have their closest family and friends there to celebrate the most special day of their lives. It was important to them that everyone had a great time and enjoyed the food.

Max and Nicole’s downtown Indianapolis wedding was held in the location of the former LS Ayers Tea Room, which was a high society dining location for Indianapolis’s elite many years ago.

It was important to Max and Nicole to incorporate Judaism and Jewish traditions throughout their wedding day. As an interfaith couple, Max and Nicole felt it was equally as important for the Rabbi to explain the meanings behind the proceedings, so all guests in attendance understood the traditions.

After the Rabbi directed Max to step on the glass, his focus must have been on his new wife, because he completely missed the glass, creating the day’s biggest “oops” (though he got it on the second attempt!).

The beautiful rooftop garden was the perfect setting for portraits after the ceremony, showing off some of the great views of a wonderful city.

After the ceremony, which was mostly but not entirely in English, the Hora was one of the most memorable parts of the reception.
