Inspiration Board: Pink and Gold — So Happy Together

Gold: it’s not the old lady color it used to be. There was a time when I pooh-poohed gold and would only wear silver jewelry. Gold reminded me of old things that were tarnished and no longer special. Gold used to have such an antique attitude about things: “Well, I’M important because I was here first.” Gold was also tacky and retro a la wood paneling on living room walls. But gold has made a comeback and it’s not just a fad. Gold figured out how to be chic, classic, and current, even with its vintage roots.

And then there’s pink. The ultimate girly color. Pink can take on so many different personalities: sweet, soft, and gentle. Or fun, playful, and perky. Pink is a timeless color, and when it comes to everything wedding, is also an easy and convenient color. With many hues under its belt, it can accommodate almost any palette of flowers, fabrics, and believe it or not, alcohol. Long live the pink.

So, pink and gold together? Power couple. Move over newly-engaged Brangelina. Here’s a duo that can do more than adopt entire orphanages. This team can make weddings sparkle, brides delight, and guests wowed. There’s a richness to pink and gold that creates a fantasy land where playful and elegant are the best of friends.

If I had to do it all over again, I would go the pink and gold route and soak up the shimmer.
