Drew and Mike grew up together and now they’re growing old together. But beautifully grow old together. This is one good looking bride-and-groom duo. Even after knowing each other since elementary school, it was asking the cute junior girl to his senior year homecoming dance that started the romance for them.

The night before they left for a vacation to Europe to visit family members abroad, Mike proposed on U.S. soil even though he’d had the idea to pop the question in Europe. But he was too nervous that the ring would be discovered while going through airport security, so he went back in time to where they had their first kiss in high school: outside of her house. They celebrated with their families in the states and then continued the post-proposal glow in Cophenhagen, London, Prague, and Berlin. How do you say “romantic” in Danish, Czech, and German?!

Drew comes from a Reform Jewish home and Mike isn’t Jewish, so they worked together to create a ceremony that would speak to everyone. Their rabbi lead a beautiful ceremony of both Hebrew and translated prayers and traditions. Mike knew it was important for Drew to incorporate her Jewish heritage so they were married under a chuppah and she loved that all of his friends were excited to yell “Mazel tov!” after he stepped on the glass and lift them up in chairs during the Horah. Drew loved saying her vows in Hebrew during the ceremony and remembers it as a special moment.

Mazel tov, Drew and Mike!

From the bride:
The biggest goals for my wedding day was to relax and enjoy myself! Definitely in the months beforehand, I was a stressed-out, nervous wreck. I wanted to create a timeless and classic wedding that I would remember forever. And one day when I show my kids and my kid’s kids our special day, I want them to see and get a feel for what a magical day it was. Our wedding day was about bringing families together, and I wanted to honor those that were with us in spirit. I framed wedding photos of our parents and our parent’s parents to show where we came from and how we are coming together to continue the best tradition of all. In all honesty, I was most concerned about our guests — making sure they were fed and had ample to drink. But in that moment on our wedding day, nothing else mattered and we were literally in our own world.
