Real Jewish Weddings | Montreal, Canada

This wedding took place in Montreal at the end of March, when nothing was in bloom and the streets were smudged with some leftover snow. The ceremony and reception took place at a synagogue in Montreal, but the majority if the photos were taken off-site. The couple own a plane, most of the wedding pictures were shot in the hanger with the plane.

From the bride: They say in life there are “no coincidences.” They say “everything happens for a reason,” and things are “meant to be.” It all started a few years ago when I was teaching two-year-olds. During that time, I had been doing some volunteer work for the Montreal Jewish Federation. I needed a kitchen with specific requirements for the event I was planning. Debra, who was one of my student’s mom’s was kind enough to offer her home for my event. Her brother, Andrew, single at the time, was somehow convinced to pop in to the event. He was told there were going to be lots of girls there including his nephew’s “teacher.” We got to talking and realized we had known each other from ten years ago when we attended CEGEP together. I then remembered I had seen him at a bar a couple of months prior to the event. I noticed him staring, but didn’t think anything of it. So there we were flirting and laughing and having a good time. His friend was in the hospital with a minor injury and he was on his way to visit him. I mentioned it would be nice for him to come back and join us for the dessert part of our event. Two hours later was the beginning of the rest of my life! He came back for dessert, asked his sister for my number the next day, called me the next week, and here we are already married for almost a year. Coinicidence? I think not!

Mazel tov, Naomi and Andrew!
